Today hundreds of people of all gender identities marched through downtown Syracuse in support of ending gender based violence. I am proud to have represented the Vera House, Inc. team but also my brothers the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. Chi Pi Chapter. We are grateful for a community that made a commitment in words that there is no excuse for abuse. Now we just have to do it. I am also proud of the young men from PSLA at Fowler and Nottingham who made commitments to be accountable to one another on the journey redefining masculinity. As we marched through downtown chanting no excuse for abuse, there was an energy that a least for today validated the feelings of survivors.
